About this Melbourne Airport parking guide

We are not the airport and we do not sell the parking. This page explains who writes the guide, which sources it leans on, and how you can check the live details for yourself before you drive to the boom gate.

Who publishes this guide

Written and maintained by an independent editorial team

This site is an independent guide to prebooked parking at Melbourne Airport. We are not the airport and we do not sell the parking. Our job is to explain how the on-site car parks work, which one matches your terminal, and what to expect at the barrier, using the airport's own published information rather than second-hand advice.

The address and phone number listed on this page belong to the airport, and we republish them so you can reach the right people directly instead of hunting for a number at the entry boom.

What this site does, and what it does not

We publish practical explanations of Melbourne Airport's on-site parking: the T123 and T4 terminal car parks, the two Value Car Parks, the courtesy bus, the QR code entry system and the booking flow.

We do not operate any car park, we do not hold inventory, and we do not take payment for parking. When a rate or a product detail matters, we point to the airport's own booking flow, because that is where the live information sits. We are the map, not the destination.

Offered on this site

  • Terminal-by-terminal explanations of which lot matches which arrivals hall.
  • How the courtesy bus, the covered link bridge and the QR entry actually work.
  • Plain-language notes on cashless payment and manage-my-booking steps.

Side by side

What we do

  • Explain the airport's parking products and how they are laid out.
  • Map car parks to terminals so you know the walk or the bus ride.
  • Spell out the QR code, cashless payment and manage-my-booking steps.
  • Send you to the airport's own booking flow for live rates.

What we do not do

  • Operate, own or staff any Melbourne Airport car park.
  • Hold parking inventory or reserve a bay on your behalf.
  • Take payment for parking or issue parking receipts.
  • Handle refunds, disputes or lost-property claims, which are the airport's.

If you need a bay held for a specific flight, the airport's own online flow is the place to do it. Everything on this site is preparation for that step.

Why we lean on the official sources

Parking advice ages badly

A rate table from a previous season, a blog post about a car park that has since been renamed, a forum thread about a shuttle that no longer runs on the same route: these are how travellers end up in the wrong lot at 5am. So we explain the structure of the airport's parking, and send you to the live booking flow for the numbers.

Who this guide is written for

Three types of traveller, mostly. If you have ever stared at a parking page the night before a flight and still not been sure which lot to drive to, this site is aimed at you.

T4

The domestic flyer

Working out whether Value South or the T4 Terminal Car Park is worth it for a short trip out and back.

T2

The international passenger

Deciding between the T123 covered bridge walk and a Value North bus ride with bags and a tight check-in.

14d

The longer-stay traveller

Cares about the per-day rate more than the last hundred metres, and wants the shuttle cadence to be honest.

How we keep the content useful

Parking products, rates and terminal assignments change, so we anchor our pages to the airport's published facts rather than our own assumptions. Where something shifts over time, we point you to the airport's Parking & Transport page and its online booking flow as the current source.

Each page gets a check whenever the airport restates a product or a cadence. If a figure on this site ever disagrees with the airport's own page, trust the airport.

  1. 15 min

    Value shuttle cadence

When Melbourne Airport states that its Value shuttle runs 24 hours a day, every 15 minutes, we report that cadence and say plainly that it is the airport's figure, not our own measurement.

  2. 100 m

    The T4 walk

When the airport says T4 Terminal Car Park sits about 100 metres from Terminal 4, we use that figure and describe the walk as a short outdoor stretch rather than a bridge.

  3. Live

    Rates and availability

Money figures move fastest, so we avoid printing a rate table. The airport's booking flow on your exact travel dates is the number you should act on.

  4. Review

    When a page changes

A car park rename, a new shuttle route or a change to the QR entry system all trigger a rewrite of the affected page, because those are the details that send people to the wrong lot.

On the courtesy bus and terminal parking distinction

The most common mistake we see is treating all Melbourne Airport parking as one product with one price. It is not. Value parking is bus-served and open-air, while terminal parking is walking-distance and covered. Getting that mapping right is most of the decision.

Once you know which terminal you are flying from, the shortlist usually shrinks to two options, and the choice becomes a trade between the walk and the daily rate.

A covered pedestrian link bridge crossing above a wet airport roadway at night

The covered link bridge is the difference between terminal parking and Value parking: one is a walk under cover, the other is a bus ride across the estate.

Terminal access at a glance

Value North

Bus-served, open-air. Connects to all terminals by courtesy bus.

Value South

Bus-served, open-air. Serves Terminal 4 only.

T123

Covered link bridge to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Walking distance, under cover.

T4

Sits about 100 metres from Terminal 4. Walking distance, outdoor stretch.

Shuttle frequency and terminal assignments are the airport's published facts. Check them on the airport's own pages before you travel.

Payment and access, in plain language

Prebooked parking at Melbourne Airport uses a QR code from the confirmation email at the barrier, for both entry and exit. The airport says you can carry it in Apple Pay, in Google Pay, or as a screenshot.

None of this is complicated once it is laid out, which is why we keep a page dedicated to the prebook-and-enter steps.

Read the prebooking steps

The QR code

One code covers entry and exit. It comes from the airport's confirmation email, and the airport accepts it stored in a wallet app or kept as a screenshot on your phone.

Cashless payment

The car parks are cashless, and Google Pay is accepted for bookings and for entry and exit. Bring a card in your wallet as well as your phone.

Changing a booking

Flight times move. The airport handles booking changes through its own manage-my-booking flow, and we explain where to look rather than promising an outcome.

When something goes wrong

A barrier that will not lift, or a booking that does not appear, is an airport support matter. We keep that route visible so you are not stuck at the boom gate.

Where to reach the airport directly

The address and phone number below belong to the airport, not to us. Use them for the genuine thing: parking assistance, booking questions and lost-property enquiries.

The airport's parking help centre is the support route for car park and booking issues, and it is where the airport directs travellers for help. We keep the contact details visible so you are not hunting for them at the barrier.

How to use this guide before you book

Start from your terminal, then decide how much the walk matters against the daily rate. Read the terminal parking comparison if you want the shortest walk, and the Value Car Park guide if cost is the priority.

The prebook-and-enter page explains the QR code, payment and manage my booking. If your question is about the shuttle or support, the shuttles and help page covers it. Then book through the airport's own online flow on your exact dates, where live rates sit, rather than relying on any figure you saw here or anywhere else.

Prebooked entry runs on a QR code at the barrier. Keep it reachable before you reach the boom, on a wet night especially.

Questions travellers ask us

Three things come up more than anything else. If yours is not here, the contact page points you at the airport's own support route.

Does this site sell Melbourne Airport parking?

No. This is an independent guide. We explain how the airport's on-site car parks, shuttle and booking flow work, and we point you to the airport's own online booking flow for actual bookings and live rates. We do not operate a car park or take parking payments.

Is the phone number on this site the airport's?

Yes. The address and phone number listed here belong to Melbourne Airport and are shared so you can reach parking assistance and booking support directly. Parking questions, booking changes and lost-property enquiries go to the airport, not to this guide.

How current is the information here?

We anchor the content to Melbourne Airport's published facts, such as the 15-minute courtesy bus frequency and the roughly 100-metre walk to T4. Products and rates change over time, so use the airport's Parking & Transport page and online booking flow as the current source for live rates.
